The Carbon Removal Standards Initiative is a nonprofit that uses science and policy to unlock carbon removal opportunities in every sector of society.

Our Work
-
Carbon Removal Quantification, Integration, and Policy Database
Use C-QuIP to explore and compare CDR quantification approaches, integration opportunities, and policies across jurisdictions.
-
Enhanced Weathering and Agricultural Policy
We are creating a framework to integrate enhanced weathering in a range of agricultural policies, including soil pH subsidies, backed by appropriate quantification standards and tools.
-
Coastal Resilience
There are untapped opportunities to integrate carbon removal into coastal resilience efforts, from flood protection to wetland restoration. We’re exploring how carbon removal can support both the climate and our coasts.
-
Inventories and Durable Sinks
We are undertaking an intercomparison across GHG inventory frameworks to explore the gaps and opportunities for more accurately tracking durable sinks.
Our Vision
A climate-relevant carbon removal industry that is transparent, accountable, and worthy of public investment.
